I also love doing original creature design. Think of it as a build-your-own adoptable:
just give me some info about how and where it lives, and I'll throw the facts in a blender and cook up a critter for you.
Unless otherwise requested, I like to create creatures which do not blatantly defy the laws of physics, so creatures I design also come with anatomical features information, describing the mechanisms by which they are able to breath fire, turn invisible, generate a smokescreen, etc. with at least one foot grounded in hard science.
Given that I originally was studying to be a Chemical Engineer before discovering my passion for art,
you likely won't find a better qualified SciFi creature designer outside of Hollywood!$20 for the design of the first creature
I make in a world, whether adding to a world you started or beginning a new one.
This covers the cost of me having to get a handle on the "rules" of a world, which can be like re-inventing biology.$10 for each additional creature
in an established ecosystem (ie. you want a prey for the predator I made you)$5 for special plants or plantlike organisms
(plantlike= mushrooms, stationary creatures like anemones and barnacles, etc.)The price includes:
a character sheet style workup of the creature with:
-views from the front, side, top, bottom, ect. as needed for a particular creature
-a large three-quarters view
-detail images of any important anatomical features,
-"how it works" information.
-You can also request additional renderings in portrait style,- I'll give a discount on my normal prices, for the repeat work.
Tip: Usually stranger and more exotic combinations = more interesting creatures
