Off in his own little world... by Scorpion451 Off in his own little world... by Scorpion451
Photoshop, about 6hrs.
My entry for :iconconceptworld:'s latest contest;
this time the magic phrase was "Imaginary Worlds", and it was an environment round

Would have loved to spend more time on this one, definitely going to have to revisit the idea when I'm not so pressed for time. Still pretty happy with how it turned out for the limited time I was able to put into it.

I have also decided that one of these days I'm going to have to make one of these in my house... preferrably sans the little sea monster stealing my crackers and other potentially eldritch phenomena that land you in a Tim Burton movie. :XD:

Nice entry Josh, definitely would have liked to see this one more polished. For me the idea is gold, the execution does need more love, in particular the perspective and 3D space. I know this might be a workflow thing, but I find that if there is a wall or a straight edge that needs to be straight, using lasso or other tools to hit those is a good thing to do or things do look overly sloppy. I'm not sure exactly what is going on with the objects and stuff going into the walls, and exactly what is going on, but I think more time and resolution of these could make for a really engaging piece. Lastly the lighting and colour palette also as you probably know could do with a lot of work to bring it out of the dullness and add more interest.
Do consider finishing this or some variant of this. As an idea it is something we all can relate to incredibly well and could be very engaging!

Read my motto - this sums it up so well - and plaudits - this is a great example of imagination :)
